After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southwest Florida Christian, Cypress Lake was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mariner Tritons, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted against the Tritons since October 2, 2018.

Cypress Lake was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 18-25, 24-26, 25-11, 16-14.

Kiara Olivares was the offensive standout of the match as she had eight digs and five aces. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. Jianna Zaliagiris was another key player, getting six aces.

They weren't the only good server: Cypress Lake was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 27 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Several Tritons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rylie Moore, who had nine aces and six digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Calleigh Buzard, who had four blocks and three aces.

The win got Cypress Lake back to even at 2-2. As for Mariner, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.

Cypress Lake has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Lehigh on the 2nd. As for Mariner, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Island Coast on the 2nd.
