            Baseball Recap: Farmington Farmers vs. Mercer County Golden Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Farmington won against Peoria Christian  last Saturday with 11  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Wednesday. The Farmers beat the Mercer County Golden Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game:  11-1. The Farmers haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive  win against them.
 Ben Marvel was  incredible,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with one  home run, five  RBI,  and three  runs. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in May of 2024.  Jacob Evans was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  home run.
 Marvel wasn't the only one working in the  home run department: Farmington  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.

Farmington pushed their record up to 7-2 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7 runs. As for Mercer County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
 Looking ahead, Farmington will square off against Sherrard at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Farmers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 9.8  runs per game this season. As for Mercer County, they will take on Annawan-Wethersfield at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8  runs per game  this season, so the Golden Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
