Baseball Recap: Manassas Park Cougars vs. Skyline Hawks
Manassas Park extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-9 in the process. They lost 18-1 to the Skyline Hawks. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 29-0 to the Hawks when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Skyline, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Skyline's part, Cole Hensley and McKinley Tolliver made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hensley pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Meanwhile, Tolliver pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Hensley a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
