Preview: Bay Path RVT Minutemen vs. Montachusett RVT Bulldogs
The Bay Path RVT Minutemen will head out on the road to face off against the Montachusett RVT Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bay Path RVT has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Wednesday, Bay Path RVT didn't have too much trouble with University Park on the road as they won 58-39.
Peter Barbale continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points. Eli Vega was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Montachusett RVT waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Assabet Valley RVT 57-41. Given Montachusett RVT's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Assabet Valley RVT is ranked 316th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bay Path RVT's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Montachusett RVT, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2.
Bay Path RVT might still be hurting after the 56-36 defeat they got from Montachusett RVT when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Bay Path RVT avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
