Basketball Recap: Star Valley Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Star Valley can now relate to. They came up short against the Green River Wolves on Friday, falling 45-25. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-43 back in February.

Despite the defeat, Star Valley had strong showings from Morgan McGee, who posted six points, and Ruby Hill, who put up six points.

The loss snapped Star Valley's winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 12-10 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points on average over those games. As for Green River, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Star Valley has already played their next contest, a 44-33 victory against Evanston on the 8th. As for Green River, they will challenge Campbell County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Campbell County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season.
