Softball Recap: Fountain Valley Has No Trouble Against Calvary Chapel

While Fountain Valley put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Calvary Chapel. Fountain Valley was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Calvary Chapel. The result was nothing new for the Barons, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mazy Ascasio looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Ella Kim was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiki Tiongco, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The win made it two in a row for Fountain Valley and bumps their season record up to 7-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Calvary Chapel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Fountain Valley will welcome Huntington Beach at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calvary Chapel, they will head out on the road to take on Ocean View at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
