Basketball Recap: Colony Takes a Loss

Colony lost against Los Altos last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Colony Titans fell 68-57 to the Los Altos Conquerors. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 498th, while the Conquerors are ranked 197th).

Despite the loss, Colony saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carter Johnson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards set a new season-high mark for Johnson. Fende Thomas was another key player, putting up ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Colony and nudges their season record down to 8-13. As for Los Altos, they pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Colony won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Villa Park at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Villa Park's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Los Altos, they will venture away from home to challenge South Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
