Soccer Game Preview: Gompers Prep Academy vs. High Tech Mesa

The Gompers Prep Academy Eagles will square off against the High Tech Mesa Thunder at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Gompers Prep Academy put up the most goals they have all season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on High Tech NC with a sharp 4-1 win. The score was close at halftime, but Gompers Prep Academy pulled away in the second half with two goals.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, High Tech Mesa was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Preuss UCSD could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 4-4 draw.

Gompers Prep Academy pushed their record up to 4-3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three matches. High Tech Mesa's draw gives them a new season record of 3-2-1.
