Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial fell victim to Richwoods and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Chargers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Centennial has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Richwoods, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will head out to take on Mahomet-Seymour at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Richwoods, they will venture away from home to square off against Urbana at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
