Baseball Recap: Sanger West Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Madera, Sanger West was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Fresno Warriors 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since May 7, 2024.

Victor Valadez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cesar Gonzalez, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Sanger West's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Fresno, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.
