Football Recap: Westminster Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Westminster duked it out with Canyon Springs on Thursday. The Lions had to suffer through a 33-2 loss at the hands of the Cougars. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even if they lost, Westminster's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Amarri Hopwood. Hopwood is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least nine every time he's taken the field this season.

Westminster's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Canyon Springs, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Looking ahead, Westminster will face off against Saddleback at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Canyon Springs, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Montclair at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
