Game recap: Columbine snaps Arapahoe's long winning streak

Columbine (Littleton, Colo.) snapped Arapahoe (Centennial, Colo.)'s 4-game winning streak, with a 48-36 victory on Saturday.After taking the lead on a Bernard McDondle touchdown run in the first quarter, the Rebels led 21-9 at the half.

Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 12 entering the fourth.

Taven Sparks played well for the Warriors. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.

Michael Burns played well for Columbine in the victory. He threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.

CHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 35-14.



The loss comes after Arapahoe defeated Mountain Vista 23-17 last week. With the win the Littleton school extended its winning streak to three games.

In a 5A Super 6 game next week Columbine (4-1) takes on Chatfield, and Arapahoe (4-1) will go up against Mullen also in a 5A Super 6 game.
