Softball Recap: Plumas Charter Warriors vs. Burney Raiders
Plumas Charter had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-19-1 to make it five. They came up short against the Burney Raiders, falling 22-4. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly 18 runs.
As for Burney, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-2. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Burney's part, Mia Perez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Perez has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plumas Charter will take on Hayfork at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are facing the Timberjacks at the right time seeing as the Timberjacks are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Burney, they are taking a road trip to challenge Los Molinos at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 2.8, the Bulldogs 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
