Galesburg-Augusta proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Gobles Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Jaden Fawcett made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Fawcett was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Ashton Matrau was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Colson Blake, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Galesburg-Augusta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Galesburg-Augusta's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Gobles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
