Basketball Recap: Emma Palaschak's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Flanagan/Woodland over Non Varsity Tournament Opponent

Flanagan/Woodland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Non Varsity Tournament Opponent. The Falcons were not able to make up for their loss to Non Varsity Tournament Opponent from their previous meeting back in November of 2023.

Flanagan/Woodland's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Palaschak, who posted 22 points. That was a full 55% of the Falcons' points, marking the third time in a row Palaschak has had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kora Edens, who earned ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Flanagan/Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Flanagan/Woodland is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Peoria Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent has already played their next contest (against Alpine), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
