Football Recap: Gordo's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Gordo had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 49-29 margin over the Colbert County Indians on Friday. The Green Wave might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Ryder Robertson, who rushed for 203 yards and four TDs.

Robertson was just one part of a punishing run game: Gordo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 362 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Gordo, bringing their record up to 10-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Colbert County, they moved to 8-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Gordo will take on Piedmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last 11 contests. Colbert County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
