Volleyball Recap: Clover Falls Despite Big Games from Dariya Ivanova and Bryn Turlington

Clover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Cardinal Newman Cardinals. If the Blue Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in August of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Clover's loss came despite strong showings from Bryn Turlington and Dariya Ivanova. Turlington had nine digs and one assist, while Ivanova had seven digs.

Leading Cardinal Newman to victory were Emerson Ramsdale and Emily Cantey. Ramsdale had ten digs and five assists, while Cantey had three digs. That's the most assists Ramsdale has posted since back in October of 2024. Leah Taylor also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Clover's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Cardinal Newman, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Clover didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Lexington on the 28th. As for Cardinal Newman, they will square off against Nation Ford at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
