Preview: Lake Highlands vs. Highland Park
Lake Highlands is 0-5 against Highland Park since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lake Highlands Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Highland Park Scots at 7:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lake Highlands scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Berkner a 10-0 shutout. The team's offensive explosion also rewarded Lake Highlands with their most commanding win of the season.
Their offense was hitting Berkner from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal.
Meanwhile, Highland Park waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Irving 9-0. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Highland Park has managed all season.
The win made it two in a row for Lake Highlands and bumps their season record up to 8-3-2. As for Highland Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2-3 record this season.
Lake Highlands suffered a grim 6-2 defeat to Highland Park when the teams last played back in February of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lake Highlands was down 5-1.
