Baseball Recap: Nova Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Nova Classical Academy came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the New Life Academy Eagles, falling 18-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-7 back in April.

Mikko Newman and Kincaid Gerber did some serious damage despite the final result: Newman went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Gerber went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Preston Karelitz, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Nova Classical Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for New Life Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Coming up, Nova Classical Academy will square off against Highland Park at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Scots' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for New Life Academy, they will host Providence Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least ten runs in their last ten matchups.
