The Puyallup Vikings will challenge the Emerald Ridge Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Puyallup is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Puyallup and Graham-Kapowsin have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. Puyallup fell 7-4 to Graham-Kapowsin.
Paisley Jamison and Mack Hardesty stepped up to the plate in a big way. Jamison scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Hardesty scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Jamison also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Emerald Ridge brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. Everything went their way against Bethel on Monday as Emerald Ridge made off with a 16-1 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 15 runs or more this season.
Alanna Wirtala made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wirtala was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Abygale Redwine was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Stolmeier, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.
Emerald Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Emerald Ridge pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Puyallup, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Puyallup hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. However, it's not like Emerald Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .470. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
