After a string of 11 wins, Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Zachary Broncos by a score of 1-0. The shutout was out of character for the Bears seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Mills Richardson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March.

Catholic's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 28-5. As for Zachary, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-14-1 record this season.

Catholic will be playing at home against Westlake at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Zachary does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
