Football Game Preview: East Poinsett County Warriors vs. Earle Bulldogs

The East Poinsett County Warriors will square off against the Earle Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as East Poinsett County comes in on four and Earle on three.

On Friday, East Poinsett County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Cross County, but they still walked away with a 20-16 victory. Those 20 points were actually the fewest the Warriors have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Jaocb Gaines was his usual excellent self, rushing for 127 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 104.2 rushing yards per game.

Gaines was just one part of a punishing run game: East Poinsett County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 207 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Earle against Lee on Friday as the squad secured a 38-6 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won three matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Earle's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for East Poinsett County, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-1.

East Poinsett County was able to grind out a solid victory over Earle when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 36-26. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
