Basketball Recap: Frassati Catholic Takes a Loss

Frassati Catholic entered their contest against O'Connell on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Frassati Catholic Falcons might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the O'Connell Buccaneers an easy 73-47 win. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 840th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 272nd).

Frassati Catholic's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for O'Connell, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.

Frassati Catholic will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Covenant at 12:45 p.m. on December 31st. As for O'Connell, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 81-54 win against Kelly Catholic on the 21st.
