Softball Game Preview: Sierra Pacific Golden Bears vs. Hanford Bullpups

The Sierra Pacific Golden Bears are taking a road trip to take on the Hanford Bullpups at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Sierra Pacific is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Sierra Pacific is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over Central Valley Christian on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Miranda Reyes was a standout: she scored three runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anaya Zaragoza, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Sierra Pacific always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Hanford came up short against Dinuba on Friday and fell 5-1. The game marked the Bullpups' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Sierra Pacific pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Hanford, they now have a losing record of 5-6-1.

Sierra Pacific might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Hanford in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Golden Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
