Baseball Recap: Deridder Comes Up Short on the Road Against Pineville

DeRidder had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 9-4 to the Pineville Rebels on Tuesday. The Dragons' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it 15 in a row dating back to last season.

DeRidder got a good showing from Nicholas Rochelle, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits.

At the plate, DeRidder saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Hunter Roberts was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing one base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeRidder will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Kinder at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Pineville has already played their next game (against St. Mary), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
