Recap: Warner Monarchs vs. Potter County co-op [Gettysburg/Hoven] Battlers

The Warner Monarchs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against Potter County co-op [Gettysburg/Hoven] by a score of 49-37. Given Warner's advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Potter County co-op [Gettysburg/Hoven] is ranked 122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Battlers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was KAYDEN CRONIN, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. CRONIN is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was EMMA SCHLACHTER, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Warner's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Potter County co-op [Gettysburg/Hoven], they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warner will face off against Northwestern Area at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Potter County co-op [Gettysburg/Hoven], they will head out on the road to face off against Leola/Frederick at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
