Recap: Bronaugh Wildcats vs. Kingsville Tigers
The Bronaugh Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 11th straight defeat. They fell just short of Kingsville by a score of 34-32.
Despite the defeat, Bronaugh saw an underclassman step up: Jada Brundridge scored five points along with 11 steals and six assists. Gretchen Banes was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Bronaugh has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season. As for Kingsville, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bronaugh will take on the Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Chilhowee's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Wildcats have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Kingsville, they will take on the Bobcats on Thursday.
