Basketball Preview: Winfield Warriors vs. Louisiana Bulldogs
The Winfield Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Louisiana Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Winfield ended up a good deal behind the Warriors and lost 47-33. Winfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Louisiana's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. Their rough 60-36 defeat to Clopton might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Louisiana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Hawks are ranked 72nd).
Winfield has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Louisiana, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10.
Winfield came up short against the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in January, falling 66-58. Can Winfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
