Basketball Recap: BJ Garth's Big Game Can't Quite Lead American Christian Academy over University Charter

American Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 56-46 to the University Charter Trail Blazers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-62 back in November.

American Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being BJ Garth, who posted ten points. Alexander Ray was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Zy'Darrius Harris was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds for University Charter. The dominant performance gave Harris a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylan Austin, who had eight points and 11 rebounds.

American Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for University Charter, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

American Christian Academy will be playing at home against Holy Spirit Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for University Charter, they will head out to take on Hatch at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
