Red Bud came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Chester, but Lexie Mott wouldn't allow it. The Chester Yellowjackets came out on top against the Red Bud Musketeers by a score of 44-31 on Thursday thanks in part to Mott, who posted 15 points and five steals. She is becoming a predictor of Chester's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 2-1 (and 8-15 when she doesn't).

Red Bud's loss came despite strong showings from Kendra Ehret and Talia Carter. Ehret put up four points and seven rebounds, while Carter earned seven points. The dominant performance also gave Ehret a new career-high in steals (two).

Chester's record is now 10-16. As for Red Bud, their loss dropped their record down to 17-12.

Chester has already played their next game, a 51-42 victory against DuQuoin on the 8th. As for Red Bud, they will square off against New Athens at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Red Bud is facing New Athens at the right time seeing as New Athens is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
