Basketball Game Preview: Phoebus Phantoms vs. Warwick Raiders

Phoebus is 2-8 against Warwick since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Phoebus Phantoms will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warwick Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Phoebus is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Thursday. They took a blow against Menchville, falling 83-18. While losing is never fun, the Phantoms can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while the Monarchs are ranked 19th).

Warwick has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-37 heartbreaker at the hands of Woodside.

Phoebus' defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Warwick, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Phoebus ended up a good deal behind Warwick when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 57-41. Can Phoebus avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
