Basketball Recap: Taylorsville Comes Up Short

Taylorsville was the 63-49 winner over Granger when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Taylorsville Warriors were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 53-52 to the Granger Lancers. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Taylorsville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kobe Allen, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Allen's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Tyler Johnson was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Granger's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Benson Turcsanski, who went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Turcsanski a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Biddulph, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 16 points and seven boards.

Taylorsville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Granger, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-13.

Taylorsville has already played their next contest, a 77-58 loss against Cyprus on the 31st. As for Granger, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-43 defeat against Kearns on the 31st.
