Basketball Game Preview: Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS vs. Batavia Bulldogs

The Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS will head out on the road to take on the Batavia Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Thursday, Madeira lost to Taylor at home by a 55-37 margin. While losing is never fun, the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 129th).

Batavia's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Eastern on Friday. Batavia came out on top against Western Brown by a score of 63-53.

Batavia pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points over those games. As for Madeira, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

Madeira came up short against Batavia when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 55-43. Can Madeira avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
