Football Recap: Lacey Township Comes Up Short

After flying high against Barnegat last Friday, Lacey Township came back down to earth. The Lions fell 14-10 to the Pinelands Regional Wildcats on Friday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2020.

Despite the loss, Lacey Township still got an impressive performance from Joey Davis, who rushed for 122 yards and one TD. Davis is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.

Lacey Township now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Pinelands Regional, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Lacey Township has already played their next matchup, a 35-0 loss against Southern Regional on the 3rd. As for Pinelands Regional, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-6 victory against Long Branch on the 3rd.
