Basketball Recap: Lake Brantley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lake Brantley won the last time they faced Winter Springs and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lake Brantley Patriots snuck past the Winter Springs Bears with a 52-47 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Patriots who have now won three contests in a row.

Lake Brantley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matthew Doherty led the charge by going 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points. The dominant performance gave Doherty a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dean Adkins, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points along with five assists and five boards.

Lake Brantley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. As for Winter Springs, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Lake Brantley will square off against Lyman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Brantley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. Winter Springs has already played their next match, a 75-51 loss against Oviedo on the 12th.
