Basketball Recap: Bennington Skates Past Lakeview with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Bennington over Lakeview in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bennington Badgers blew the Lakeview Vikings out of the water with a 73-33 final score. The Badgers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Bennington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Skylar Johnson led the charge by going 5-for-7 en route to 15 points. Thanks to that strong game, Johnson now owns an excellent 40.9% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Harper Bohaboj, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 11 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Bennington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Brianna Line and Kenzie Greisen certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Line posted seven points, while Greisen had seven points and nine rebounds.

Bennington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points over those games. Lakeview's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-18.

Bennington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-43 win against Blair on the 26th. Lakeview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
