Volleyball Recap: Covenant Day Lions vs. Providence Day Chargers
Covenant Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Providence Day Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 9th.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Covenant Day sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 24-26, 25-22, 24-26, 15-11.
Lila Jones paced Covenant Day's offense, picking up 15 kills. Jones got some help from Maggie Shannon and her 22 assists. Shannon was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
Covenant Day's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Providence Day, their victory ended a ten-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-8.
