Baseball Game Preview: Batavia Bulldogs vs. Turpin Spartans

The Batavia Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Turpin Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Batavia will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Batavia and New Richmond have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 9-5 win over the Lions.

The team relied heavily on Max Mehlman, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Mason Patrick was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Turpin put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Walnut Hills 14-2.

Batavia's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Turpin, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
