Baseball Recap: Zion Christian Wins Going Away Against Tri-Unity Christian

Zion Christian barely beat Tri-Unity Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mountaineers blew past the Defenders 11-4 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their matchups with the Defenders: they've now won eight in a row.

Ian DeRuiter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Zack Wierenga was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and four RBI.

Zion Christian's record now sits at 23-6. As for Tri-Unity Christian, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zion Christian will venture away from home to challenge Lee at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tri-Unity Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Martin at 10:00 a.m. on the 31st.
