Football Preview: Fishers Tigers vs. Hamilton Southeastern Royals
Fishers hasn't had much luck against Hamilton Southeastern recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fishers Tigers will square off against the Hamilton Southeastern Royals at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Fishers needed a bit of extra time to put away Noblesville. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-14 win over the Millers.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fishers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gage Sturgill, who threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 33 yards. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards. 97 of those passing yards were hauled in by Jonanthony Hall, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, Hamilton Southeastern put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Avon with points to spare, taking the game 28-10. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Royals were the (much) better team in the second half.
Fishers now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hamilton Southeastern, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
