Franklin proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Indian Trail Hawks. The Sabers haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Kailey Anderson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Anderson, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.
Franklin's record now sits at 16-5. As for Indian Trail, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Franklin will face off against Wisconsin Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sabers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Indian Trail, they are taking a road trip to challenge Westosha Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
