Basketball Game Preview: Research Triangle Raptors vs. East Wake Academy Eagles

The Research Triangle Raptors are taking a road trip to take on the East Wake Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Research Triangle came up short against NCSSM: Durham and fell 66-53. The Raptors haven't had much luck with the Unicorns recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Research Triangle had strong showings from Sam Griffith, who posted 18 points, and Darien Venable, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. That was a full 34% of Research Triangle's points, marking the third time in a row Griffith has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, East Wake Academy also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Research Triangle by a score of 53-45. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Research Triangle's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for East Wake Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
