Softball Recap: St. John Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and St. John had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Jackson-Milton Bluejays on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Fighting Herald sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Isabelle Holler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nadia Lagoa, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Bella Brent was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. John kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

St. John's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Jackson-Milton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

As of now, neither St. John nor Jackson-Milton have any future games scheduled.
