West Branch and Canfield are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. West Branch is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

West Branch had taken Carrollton down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. West Branch took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carrollton.

Meanwhile, Canfield got themselves on the board against Tallmadge on Thursday, but Tallmadge never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 7-0 victory. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Joey Gabriel's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dylan Mancini, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Anthony Groner, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Canfield's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for West Branch, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

West Branch skirted past Canfield 5-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
