Basketball Recap: South Ripley's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

South Ripley extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Kaiya Rinear. The Raiders came out on top against the Batesville Bulldogs by a score of 59-52 on Saturday thanks in part to Rinear, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 22 points and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 42.1% three-point shooting accuracy.

Claire Samples was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Samples is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Batesville still got an impressive performance from Kaylin Kathman, who posted 17 points and four steals. Kathman continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maggie Jelinek, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

South Ripley's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Batesville, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

South Ripley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-44 loss against East Central on the 29th. As for Batesville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-35 victory against Jac-Cen-Del on the 28th.
