Baseball Recap: Costa Mesa Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Costa Mesa nor Kennedy made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Mustangs never let the Fighting Irish get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The Mustangs have beaten the Fighting Irish the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Fighting Irish has come to flipping the script.

Costa Mesa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wylan Rottschafer, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Costa Mesa's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-12.
