Soccer Recap: La Joya Comes Up Short

La Joya lost against Alexander back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The La Joya Coyotes fell just short of the Alexander Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 18th).

La Joya's loss dropped their record down to 2-2-2. As for Alexander, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

La Joya and San Benito will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. San Benito will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last. As for Alexander, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on United South at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
