Basketball Game Preview: Archbishop Hoban Knights vs. St. Joseph Academy Jaguars

The Archbishop Hoban Knights just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the St. Joseph Academy Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Archbishop Hoban is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Chippewa for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-37 victory. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Chipps are ranked 138th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Academy beat Padua Franciscan 58-50 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.

Archbishop Hoban pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.1 points. As for St. Joseph Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Archbishop Hoban didn't have too much breathing room in their match against St. Joseph Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 51-45 victory.
