Softball Recap: Paul VI Comes Up Short

Paul VI fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Our Lady of Good Counsel on Sunday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 13-12. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

McKenna Drawbaugh was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Gatlin, who went 2-for-5 with one home run.

Paul VI now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Our Lady of Good Counsel, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-4.

Looking ahead, Paul VI will take on Sidwell Friends at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Quakers at the right time seeing as the Quakers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Our Lady of Good Counsel, they will head out on the road to square off against Bishop Ireton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
