Volleyball Game Preview: Lakes Eagles vs. Zion-Benton Zee-Bees

The Lakes Eagles will head out to face off against the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Lakes came up short against Warren Township and fell 2-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Zion-Benton also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Stevenson by a score of 2-0. The Zee-Bees have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

While Zion-Benton was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-23.

Lakes will have to keep a close watch on Brayden Young and Ben Garza-Kohl, a pair of players who had a big impact on Zion-Benton's prior game. Young had seven digs and six assists, while Garza-Kohl had three digs.

Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Zion-Benton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-25.

Lakes couldn't quite get it done against Zion-Benton in their previous matchup back in June of 2021 as they fell 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
